Everything you might be wondering, answered plainly. And if your question isn’t here, call or text us — nothing is too awkward to ask, and we’d rather you asked than worried.

1. How long does my hair need to be for a wax?

About a quarter of an inch — roughly two to three weeks of growth. Any shorter and the wax has nothing to grip, which means a patchy result. If you arrive and it’s too short, we’ll tell you honestly and help you rebook.

2. Does a Brazilian wax hurt?

We’ll be honest with you: the first one is uncomfortable, and it’s over quickly. Most guests describe it as far more manageable than they expected. We use premium hard wax, which grips hair rather than skin, and our estheticians work fast. It gets noticeably easier every time — by your third or fourth appointment, most people barely react.

3. What kind of wax do you use?

Premium hard wax on all sensitive areas — bikini, Brazilian, underarms and face. Hard wax hardens on the hair and lifts off without adhering to the skin, which makes it gentler and less irritating. Soft wax is used only on larger areas like legs, arms and backs, where it’s faster and just as comfortable.

4. It’s my first wax — what should I expect?

You’ll be in a private room with one esthetician, who will explain each step before it happens. You undress only from the area being waxed. Most services take between 15 and 45 minutes. You can ask us to stop or slow down at any point, and you’ll leave with aftercare instructions. Nothing about the appointment is a surprise.

5. How should I prepare for my appointment?

Exfoliate gently 24 to 48 hours beforehand, arrive with clean and dry skin, and skip lotion, oil or self-tanner on the day. Avoid caffeine and alcohol right before, since both increase sensitivity. If you’re especially nervous, an over-the-counter pain reliever 30 minutes before helps.

6. What is the aftercare?

For 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot showers, saunas, swimming pools, heavy workouts, sun exposure and tight clothing. After 48 hours, start exfoliating two to three times a week to prevent ingrown hairs. We’ll go over all of it with you before you leave.

7. How often should I get waxed?

Every three to four weeks for most people. Sticking to a rhythm keeps everything on the same growth cycle, which means less discomfort, finer regrowth and a cleaner result each time. The single best thing you can do for your results is to book your next appointment before you leave.

8. Will waxing cause ingrown hairs?

Waxing pulls hair from the root, so ingrowns are much less common than with shaving — but they can still happen. Regular exfoliation between appointments and loose clothing right after your wax prevent the vast majority of them.

9. Can I get waxed on my period?

Yes, absolutely, as long as you’re wearing a fresh tampon or menstrual cup. Skin can be more sensitive in the few days before and during your period, so if you have flexibility, booking outside that window is slightly more comfortable.

10. Do you wax men?

Yes. Men’s waxing is a growing part of what we do — back, chest, shoulders, brows and intimate services. Every guest is treated with the same discretion and the same standard.

11. Can I be waxed if I use retinol, tretinoin or acne medication?

Stop retinol, tretinoin, glycolic and salicylic products [five to seven days] before facial waxing — they thin the skin and can cause lifting. If you’re on Accutane or isotretinoin, you’ll need to be off it for [six months] before we can wax you. Tell us about any medication or skin treatment when you book.

12. Do I need to book in advance?

We recommend it, especially for evenings and Saturdays. [Walk-ins are welcome when we have availability, but booking guarantees your time.]

13. What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations inside 24 hours are charged 50% of the service price, and no-shows are charged in full.
